Taissia is a New York City–based filmmaker and MFA Directing candidate at Brooklyn College’s Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema.

Originally trained in finance, she graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston before launching her career in Houston’s financial sector.

In 2016, Taissia enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving in Okinawa, Japan, and Yuma, Arizona. She completed her service in 2020 with an honorable discharge, leaving the Corps at the rank of Corporal.

That same year, she transitioned toward her lifelong passion for storytelling. Since then, she’s been developing a distinct voice as a director, writer, and visual artist — blending grounded realism with emotional intensity and poetic flair.

When not behind the camera, you can find her deep in a mosh pit, crocheting something warm, or volunteering through New York Cares.
